On the right, the ridge stretches away to Mahasu, Kufri, Fagu and the Indo Tibet Road and on the left to Naldehra, Basantpur, Sunni and Sutlej Valley.

About 6 miles from Mashobra lay the beautiful spur of Naldehra, better known for its picturesque 9-hole golf links.

Craignano is another beautiful hillock located at a walking distance from Gables. It houses the main water reservoir for Shimla water supply and is a charming little hill surrounded by thick forest.

Another ancient and historic place near Mashobra is Seepur. It is a beautiful 20 minutes trek from Gables under a canopy of magnificent Deodars to this small tea cup shaped valley. Fromtime immemorial a local hill festival called the Sipi Fair is celebrated annually here.

Church at Mashobra

On the hill opposite to Gables is an idyllic little English Church, erected by Mr. C.T. Allen in memory of those who died in the Great War.

The Gables Hotel is flanked by a number of buildings built by the Britishers around 1850 and almost all these building are made of locally available materials and techniques such as Dhajji with mud plaster. These building retain their original glory till date making this quaint town appears as if from a bygone Victorian era.
